Although 2020 was a tough year for many, Flyability remained incredibly active and focused on innovation. We faced challenges head-on and continued to grow, supporting our global community with new solutions and services. Before we take a look back at what we achieved in 2020, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all our clients, partners, prospects, and supporters around the world for a successful and inspiring 2021. 2020 started with a big milestone—our first U.S. office opened in Denver, Colorado. By the end of the year, we also announced a successful Series C funding round, securing an additional 7 million Euros (about $8.6 million USD). These developments helped us expand our presence and capabilities in the U.S., while the new capital will support our ongoing work in indoor drone technology and software development. The U.S. office has allowed us to better serve our growing customer base in North America, and the funding will be used to accelerate our mission of making drone inspections safer, faster, and more efficient. In late 2020, we launched Inspector 3.0, a powerful tool that enables data localization on a 3D map created immediately after an inspection flight. This feature eliminates the guesswork involved in identifying defect locations, allowing inspectors to pinpoint issues directly on a sparse point cloud. This means maintenance teams can now target exactly where repairs are needed, improving accuracy and reducing downtime. Watch the video below to see how it works: Ready to test it out? At Flyability, we embraced this shift and hosted a series of online events to keep our community informed and engaged. We converted our annual User Conference into a webinar series and continued offering educational content throughout the year. In total, we hosted 21 webinars, attracting over 21,000 registrants and nearly 4,000 attendees. Some of the most popular sessions included: All webinar recordings are available for you to watch anytime—browse the full list here. 2020 was a year of impactful stories. We published several case studies showcasing how our drone technology is helping companies save time, reduce risk, and improve safety during inspections. The TVA tested the Elios 2 for scrubber inspections and found it significantly improved safety and efficiency. Read the full case study here. Marine Inspection Services saved their client $2 million using the Elios 2 for cargo tank inspections. Discover how here. Explore all our case studies here. Last year, we shared two inspiring videos highlighting missions that pushed the boundaries of exploration and science. This video shows how researchers used the Elios drone to explore ice caves in Greenland, helping to understand the impact of climate change. Learn more here. We partnered with scientists to conduct a mission inside Reactor Five at Chernobyl, one of the most dangerous places on Earth. Watch the video here. Continuing our initiative from 2019, we released a series of detailed guides covering topics relevant to our users. These resources help our community better understand drone applications and best practices. Some of the guides we published include: Check out all eleven guides here.
