The Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving four cars with airbag deployments shortly before noon today. The crash occurred on Milwaukee Avenue at Busch Parkway, an intersection that falls near the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District. As a result, both departments were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found six patients from three vehicles, one of which was severely damaged.
Firefighters from both departments worked together to extricate two individuals from a late-model Cadillac. An EMS Box Alarm was activated, bringing additional ambulances from Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Deerfield, Mundelein, and Lake Forest, in addition to the local units already on scene.
Tim Olk and Larry Shapiro were both present at the accident site. Tim arrived early, before any tools were deployed, and has shared a full gallery of his photos here. Larry also captured the event and has a collection available here as well.
