In the first quarter of this year, according to information from the Suizhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce in Hubei Province, the city saw a significant boost in its export activities. Specifically, 275 special-purpose vehicles and 360 vehicle bodies were exported, generating $9.38 million in revenue—an impressive 15-fold increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, exports of auto parts reached $6.88 million, marking a 24-fold growth year-on-year.
This surge in exports was largely driven by the strong performance of special gas vehicles and their components. As a result, the city’s total import and export volume for the first quarter reached $80 million, representing a 92.8% increase from the previous year. Notably, exports of special gas alone amounted to $77.55 million, up 89.6% year-on-year. This growth far exceeded both the provincial and national averages, with an advantage of over 41 percentage points at the provincial level and 68 percentage points nationally.
The remarkable performance highlights Suizhou's growing role in the global market, especially in the specialized automotive sector. Local businesses are leveraging increased demand and improved production efficiency to expand their international footprint. With continued support from local authorities and favorable trade policies, the city is well-positioned to maintain this upward trend in the coming quarters.
