The Elk Grove Village Fire Department has recently acquired a new Pierce Velocity 100′ rear-mount tower ladder from Pierce. This model comes equipped with a pump and water tank, marking the first time in many years that the department has added such a feature to one of its aerial apparatus. The new unit is set to enhance the department’s capabilities in both fire suppression and emergency response.

In other news, the Elk Grove Village Fire Department is planning to acquire a small squad unit, which will be stationed at Station 7 alongside the new tower ladder. This unit will function as a jump company, primarily tasked with responding to EMS calls. The addition of this squad is expected to improve response times and provide more efficient service to the community.
