Shanghai Food and Drug Administration detected unqualified vitamin C silver fins
On September 28, 2008, the Shanghai Food and Drug Administration released a notice regarding the results of drug inspections conducted during the third quarter of that year. The announcement highlighted several batches of medicines that failed to meet quality standards. Among them was Batch No. 080107 produced by Wei Ning Weiwei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Additionally, Batch No. 080202 of Tracheitis Pills, a commonly used medication, was found unqualified and manufactured by Hebei Wanshan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
According to the report, a total of 4,138 drug samples were tested, with 85 failing the inspection. In addition, 45 medical devices were randomly checked, and two of them were found to be non-compliant. Regarding drug packaging materials, 133 samples were collected, and 19 of them did not meet the required standards.
The list of unqualified products also included Methylcobalamin Tablets from Jiangsu Sihuan Biological Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 0803181), Hepatic Hydrolyzed Peptide Injection from Huinan Huifa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Jilin Province (Batch No. 061201), and Tetracycline Acetate Cortisone Hydrochloride Ointment from Wuhu Sanyi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 080401).
Otherä¸åˆæ ¼ products included Acanthopanax from Guangdong Bo Luo Pioneer Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 070901), Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate Injection from Surabaya Hillcom Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 0708161), Gliclazide Sustained Release Tablets from Yantai Chuchu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 070701), Xanthium Rhinitis Capsules from Changchun Overseas Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 20071203), and "Zhi Su Niang" Film from Changchun Silver Ning Ke Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Batch No. 20060902).
The Shanghai Food and Drug Administration urged consumers to remain cautious and advised healthcare providers to review their stock. It also emphasized the importance of monitoring drug quality and ensuring that only safe and effective products reach the market. This incident highlights the ongoing need for rigorous quality control measures within the pharmaceutical industry.
