High-efficiency vertical multi-function air suspension cashmere combined carding machine successfully developed in Beijing
After nearly six years of dedicated scientific research, supported by the Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Beijing Textile Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd., along with collaboration from multiple enterprises, a professor-level senior engineer from Beijing Xuelian Cashmere Co., Ltd. led the development of a high-efficiency vertical special animal fluff combined carding machine. This innovation was designed under the guidance of model workers, government subsidy experts from the State Council, and Beijing's outstanding contribution experts. The machine has now been successfully launched into operation and is being sold commercially.
The technology focuses on carding special animal fluffs such as cashmere, yak wool, camel hair, and rabbit plush. Carding plays a crucial role in determining the combing efficiency, economic returns, and product quality of these materials.
Over the past two decades, significant progress has been made in this field, highlighted by awards like the National Science and Technology Invention Award and the China Patent Invention and Creation Gold Award in 1997. The "BSLD-95 Cashmere Combined Carding Machine" achieved a combing extraction rate of up to 50% for medium-quality raw materials, with a comprehensive extraction rate exceeding 95% and a fiber damage rate below 12%. It not only became widely used in China but also ended the import era of cashmere carding machines, being exported to countries like Iran and Mongolia. This greatly advanced the global development of carding technology.
Driven by continuous innovation, researchers have explored new directions in carding technology. For instance, in certain regions of China, cashmere and other fibers require multiple passes through carding machines. Based on this, a new "high-efficiency vertical multi-functional air suspension special animal fluff combined carding machine" was developed after six years of research. This equipment can be customized or combined, serving as a cashmere, camel, or yak wool carding machine. It handles various types of pre-carded fluff materials efficiently, achieving an extraction rate over 64%, far surpassing conventional machines in performance and versatility.
From a design perspective, this vertical carding technique combines air suspension and combing, offering a completely new approach. Unlike traditional horizontal carding units that operate in cycles, this vertical system completes the process in just 0.7–0.9 meters. Compared to Japanese airflow transfer systems, it prevents moisture loss and fiber pilling. It also improves separation of fine and coarse fibers compared to British or Chinese FN241 models, reducing damage and improving combing results. Additionally, it reduces power consumption from 3.5KW to less than 1KW, making it more energy-efficient and easier to maintain.
By adjusting the size and spacing of the special leaking bottom under the opening roller, operators can control the amount of cashmere and waste material, ensuring better separation of coarse wool, fine bristles, and skin. These optimizations enhance extraction rates, improve yield, and reduce fiber damage. As a result, this machine represents a major leap forward in the processing of high-quality animal fluff, meeting diverse material and product quality requirements effectively.
