January 5, 2021, around 9:00 AM. At 31-154th Place, there was a report of smoke coming from Lauer’s Tap, a 20x60 one-story ordinary building. The initial dispatch was for a smoke investigation when Engine 11 arrived on scene and discovered heavy smoke. Engine 11 attempted to enter through the front door with a hose line, but due to worsening conditions and an unstable floor, they had to retreat. Once the lines were pulled out, firefighters switched to defensive operations. Four lines and the SH T-43 master stream were used to tackle the fire.
This is what happened according to Rob G (Gfdrob). He mentioned that the situation quickly escalated, requiring a coordinated effort from multiple units.
