The Elk Grove Village Fire Department has recently acquired a new Pierce Velocity 100′ rear-mount tower ladder from Pierce. This model comes equipped with a pump and water tank, marking the first time in many years that the department has added such a feature to its aerial apparatus. The new unit represents a significant upgrade in both capability and modernization for the department.

In other news, the department is also planning to acquire a small squad vehicle to be stationed at Station 7 alongside the new tower ladder. This will function as a jump company dedicated to handling emergency medical services (EMS) calls more efficiently. This move reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to improving response times and expanding its capabilities to better serve the community.
