Subject: Update on Antioch Fire Department Taking Over Ambulance Services
Hi Jeff,
I just came across this announcement on the Antioch Fire Department's website and thought you'd want to know what's happening. Here’s the gist of it:
The Village of Antioch has decided to take over ambulance services starting June 1st, directly under the supervision of the Antioch Fire Department. It seems that the former EMS provider, the Antioch Rescue Squad (ARS), decided not to renew their contract after declining the village board's offer to extend their services for another six months at the May 20th meeting. So now, the Fire Department will be fully responsible for both firefighting and EMS services.
To make this transition smoother, Superior Air Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. has been brought in for the next six months. They’ll be providing two fully equipped ambulances along with four on-duty fire and EMS personnel. These ambulances will be stationed at Fire Station 1 on Holbek Drive and Fire Station 2 on Deep Lake Road to ensure quicker response times for residents.
It’s interesting to note that the Fire Department already has Advanced Life Support (ALS) engines, so this should help them integrate the new ambulances into their operations seamlessly.
On a side note, I found this picture of a new ambulance from the Antioch Fire Department’s archives. It’s pretty cool how they’re stepping up to handle these responsibilities.
Let me know if you need more details or have any thoughts on this development.
Cheers,
[Your Name]
P.S. Thanks for keeping us updated on everything! It’s good to see the community coming together during transitions like this.
