TR-OTR-1902 is based on the coulometric sensor method and is designed for oxygen transmission rate (OTR) testing of flexible films, sheets, and packages. It can test up to three specimens simultaneously with independent results. 1. Coulometric sensor method

Principles
Film:
The specimen is clamped between the upper and lower chamber. The upper chamber is purged with an oxygen stream, while the lower chamber is purged with a nitrogen stream. Due to the oxygen concentration gradient across the specimen, oxygen molecules permeate through it into the nitrogen side, where they are carried to the coulometric sensor, generating a proportional signal. This allows calculation of the oxygen transmission rate and permeability coefficient.
Package:
The package is mounted on the lower chamber. The outside of the package is exposed to air or pure oxygen, while the inside is purged with nitrogen. Oxygen permeates through the package wall into the interior, where it is detected by the coulometric sensor, allowing the oxygen transmission rate to be calculated.
