The Addison Fire Department upgraded a fire at a commercial building on Executive Drive to a Second Alarm on Saturday afternoon. John Tulipano arrived at the scene and reported that the fire originated from a laser cutting machine inside a large industrial facility. The temperature was over 95 degrees, making conditions extremely challenging for first responders.
John captured several images of the incident, offering a glimpse into the intense efforts being made by firefighters. One photo shows the Lombard Truck 52 positioned along the side of the building, with its aerial ladder extended toward the roof. Another image features the Elmhurst Squad 1 in staging while crews worked on containing the blaze.
Firefighters were seen preparing for entry into the building, donning their gear as they received assignments. A separate photo highlights the presence of the Bloomingdale Engine 1, which was also on standby. Additionally, a shot of the Lombard Battalion Chief serving as a sector officer gives insight into the command structure during the response.
