Addison 2-11 on 7-1-11
The Addison Fire Department upgraded a fire at a commercial building on Executive Drive to a Second Alarm on Saturday afternoon. John Tulipano arrived at the scene and reported that the fire originated in a laser cutting machine inside a large industrial facility. Temperatures were over 95 degrees, making conditions extremely challenging for first responders.
John captured several images from the incident, offering a rare glimpse into the intensity of the situation. One photo shows the Lombard Truck 52 positioned along the side of the building, with its aerial ladder extended to the roof. Another image highlights the Elmhurst Squad 1 being staged as firefighters worked on containing the blaze. A third shot captures emergency personnel preparing for entry into the structure, fully suited and ready for action.
Additionally, a photo of the Bloomingdale Engine 1 is visible, showing how multiple departments coordinated efforts during the response. Another image features the Lombard Battalion Chief assigned as a sector officer, overseeing operations on the ground. These photos provide a visual account of the organized and intense firefighting effort.
John has more photos available for viewing, which can be accessed [here](#). The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by firefighters and the critical importance of quick, coordinated responses in such high-stress situations.
